First post: reflecting on last weekend's Commencement, the past week at home, and upcoming plans!

I was a mess of tears at graduation. According to several of my friends, this was no surprise. I think that it was the first real goodbye that I had to say that got me started. Cristine was one of my suitemates since freshman year and one of my first friends--our Welch suite drama and our shared interest in cleanliness (bonding through bathroom cleaning!) really created a bond that kept us together even though we had such different schedules throughout the four years. Saying goodbye to her and Becky, and all of my friends in the master's office, was probably the hardest part because it really felt like I was leaving my home behind. By the time I got to Becky, I was already pretty cried out, but it was quite unsettling that it might be a while before I got to see her again, after becoming so close from living together for four straight years. It was sad that I also didn't get a chance to see many of my friends before leaving campus. I hope I can make an extra effort to stay in touch with everyone. I really don't know what I would do without the internet...

Suitemates on Commencement Day

It's been nice to be home, with good rest and food! I've been sort of productive... I read the entire Twilight series (thanks Becky! heh), took the GMAT, and did a lot of shopping with my parents this past weekend. I'm also excited to head off to Anchorage, Alaska, this Friday for a couple of months of work and fun! I'll be working with the Renewable Energy Alaska Project through the Yale Alumni Community Service Fellowship and am really looking forward to learning some new things and hopefully helping to make a difference at the organization. I'm hoping to adopt a pet moose in Alaska too :)

    1. Hi Janice! Hmm... Alfie, perhaps? Though it'll depend on the moose, of course :)

  2. Have you read midnight sun or watched the rest of the movies yet?

    1. I read everything! I was sad that Midnight Sun just ends haha. I haven't watched the other movies though... Funny story actually: my mom saw me reading obsessively and was like "they must be good" and went to borrow the DVDs of Twilight and New Moon from the library. So I actually watched Twilight again with her, and then we were going to watch New Moon, but the box only had the special features disc in it! The movie itself was missing :( Then I left for Alaska, so I guess I'll have to do a Twilight movie marathon in August lol
